Although known as the Prince of Chintz for his love of using Chintz fabrics in his interiors, I would like to call interior designer Mario Buatta, if I may… the Master of Color. Famed for his English country style interiors that are influenced by the 18th and 19th centuries, Buatta’s rooms are timeless; they suggest comfort, formality, and informality at the same time.
To some he might be considered old fashioned, but to me his rooms are a cheerful reference to history.

Dear PoE, Well, Buatta's interiors certainly appeal to me and I think that your title is most apposite. I feel that he handles the contrasting colours and farics with confidence and these rooms look wonderfully welcoming and comfortable to me. His style reminds me of Nicholas Haslam and could certainly be called 'English'....although a touch of shabbiness would not go amiss!!
Lush comfort, grace and attention to detail. Perhaps too many ruffles for my personal taste but oh, wow, love the fabrics.

Although I prefer a somewhat sparer aesthetic, his use of color is indeed impressive.
I have provided architectural services for several projects decorated by Mario and can assure you that the color schemes are even more impressive in person.
TDC- I can only imagine how the color schemes impacted the look and feel of the rooms...
I love everything i see in these beautiful picture but the two rooms i love is the yellow room with all the different shade of yellow i do love yellow and the beautiful Romantic bed room i love all the soft shades of pale pink and blue and all the others colors....what a elegant and beautiful rooms that PoE,Well Buatta's Interiors have done, would love to have these two elegant rooms.
