How The House Was Lit

Light has always been considered a tool of art and design and has been used to create dramatic effects to bring life to interiors, as well as exteriors.

In the images below, designer Tim Gosling succeeded in focusing attention where needed, and created pools of light softly flowing in the garden space. In doing so, Gosling used a key design principle: rhythm. Through repetition, he accented the architecture and the windows with spotlights, and created movement for the observer.
